South Side Trust & Savings Bank has been providing banking and financial services to the local community since January 4, 1922. Neighborhood businessmen and stockyard members recognized the need to bring banking closer to the South Side of Peoria, and with 203 local investors, South Side Bank was born. Today, South Side Bank remains one of the very few independent locally owned and operated financial institutions in the Tri-County area. We now serve the Peoria, Chillicothe, Bartonville, East Peoria, West Peoria,
Pekin and Washington communities.
We, at South Side Bank, believe our most important asset is our
customer. Our full range of deposit, loan, trust, and investment products and services are designed to meet both personal and corporate financial needs. Meeting
customer's needs through the delivery of high quality, personalized service is the stated mission of South Side Bank. Our vision is to serve our customers and community better than our competition and produce a superior return for our stockholders.
We are proud to say that South Side Bank is a locally owned, community oriented financial institution that has been serving the Peoria area for
over 90 years! We are extremely proud of our past accomplishments and look forward to an exciting future of serving our community!
Our Commitment to the Community
South Side Bank takes pride in being involved with our area community and the needs it serves. The community has provided for us to grow into the institution we are today. We take pride in giving back the same opportunities and by being a part of many events and charities in Peoria, West Peoria, Chillicothe, Bartonville, East Peoria,
Pekin and Washington.
For over 50 years, South Side Bank and WMBD TV 31 have sponsored the Peoria Santa Claus Parade. Being the oldest Santa Parade in the country, it has become a tradition for the Peoria area as well as South Side Bank. Every year our employees volunteer countless hours to creating a Christmas float. Our employees say that seeing the bright smiles on the children's faces nullifies the hours of time donated to this event.
South Side Bank is dedicated to many other local and national charities. Our employees volunteer their time and money for Rebuilding Together, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, St Jude, Easter Seals, United Way, Relay for Life, and countless others. In addition, each month a charity is chosen to receive the donations each employee gives in order to participate in Casual Fridays. South Side Bank not only gives to the community with its time, people, and various donations; but also by operating as a stable financial institution. We pay municipal, state, and federal taxes and comply with community re-investment regulations.
We take great pride in promoting our community and making a difference. Being involved with community events, concerns, and endeavors allows us to give back to all that have made South Side Bank a success since 1922. For this we will continue to be a locally owned, community-oriented, stable and growing business in this area.
